Super-cool fictional journalists

Super-cool fictional journalists

Kent Brockman

Mr. Brockman is TV news anchorman. The Simpson family often watches him on the KBBL-TV network. He hosts the popular Channel 6 Weekday News in Springfield. He also hosts Smartline, a current affairs show, and Eye on Springfield, Springfield's source to all the entertainment news. He likes to throw tantrums when he cannot find certain snack foods. He also likes to swear a lot while on the air and frequently uses Botox.

Heroes: Hal Fishman, Jerry Dunphy

Stephen Colbert
Stephen T. Colbert is a self-obsessed, right-wing commentator on the Daily Show and The Colbert Report. He knows that, as a journalist, he must be willing to travel extensively - and often finds himself "live on location" in the Iraqi and Afghanistan He is the author of the best-selling book I Am America (And So Can You!) He has a strong distaste for facts and is really scared of bears.

Heroes: Bill O'Reilly, whom he calls "Papa Bear"

Rita Skeeter
Rita Skeeter is a reporter for the Daily Prophet and a correspondent for the Witch Weekly. She specialises in "yellow journalism" - a form of sensationalism favouring eye-catching headlines and exaggerated stories in order to sell more newspapers. She uses her Quick-Quotes Quill to write down her stories. She has interviewed the famous Harry Potter while writing an unauthorized biography of wizard Albus Dumbledore. She is currently working on a biography of Harry Potter.

Heroes: the Ministry of Magic

Tintin
Tintin is a young journalist who is often accompanied by his dog Milou (also known as Snowy). Drawn to excitement and adventure, he often finds himself in international mysteries which require his quick thinking, bravery and good luck. Tintin is extremely clever and seems to know several languages. He reads extensively on a variety of subjects, like any good journalist should. He knows how to operate motorcycles, tanks, plans and helicopters. Despite his small appearance, he's pretty strong - he once fought a large Brown bear using his bare hands. He is often seen wearing golf trousers and argyle socks.

Heroes: Hergé, Totor

Peter Parker
Peter Parker works for The Daily Bugle, a New York newspaper noted for its anti-superhero slant. Peter works as a photographer for the paper, taking exclusive shots of heroes which only he can get a hold of, such as Spiderman. He can always be found with his expensive camera or doting on Mary-Jane Watson.

Heroes: His uncle Ben and Aunt May

(Note: While these journalists definitely have interesting lives, it's probably a best idea to steer clear of these journalist stereotypes. I don't think Rita Skeeter would be too pleased if you tried to steal her position at the Daily Prophet.)

Haha. Super cool lesson indeed, Tiffany! Tintin takes me back. Haha. Good times. I didn’t know that he fought a bear with just his bare hands! That boy, I tell you. He’s so unpredictable!

Here are a few more super-cool fictional journalists that I’d like to add:

Lois Lane from the DC Comics
Trevor Newsworthy from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
April O’Neil from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Kermit the Frog from Sesame Street TV series
    Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls
